The recruitment process to fill the first 75 graduate jobs in Edinburgh has already started and the company say they are very optimistic about the student fairs which they will be attending.
It is thought that Avaloq will fill 20 Edinburgh jobs before the end of this year and that hundreds more vacancies will be advertised over the coming years.
Chief executive of Avaloq, Francisco Fernandez, said: “Edinburgh came top of our global search for several reasons, but one of the most important factors was due to the wealth of potential graduate talent available in Scotland and the number of universities offering excellent degrees in software engineering. We very much believe in working with the local talent to grow this operation.”
First Minister for Scotland, Alex Salmond, said the announcement by Avaloq was great news for graduates in Edinburgh and other parts of Scotland and would solidify the city’s reputation as a business hub for the finance and IT sectors.
