Graduate surveyors wanted at Knight Frank as profits soar

Property consultancy Knight Frank LLP confirmed its commitment to graduate recruitment as it celebrated a 10% rise in before-tax profit last week.

The international property group, which recruits into graduate surveying roles in its commercial and residential divisions, reported a before-tax profit of £101.9 million and a group turnover of £308.4 million for the year ending 31 March 2011. The UK was picked out as a particularly strong area. ‘In the UK, our residential business once again out-performed the market and our commercial division exploited the improved transactional activity,’ said Nick Thomlinson, senior partner and chairman of the Knight Frank Group.

The Middle East and Africa are particular growth areas, which could be interesting to graduates who want to work abroad, as an international secondment during the graduate scheme is common. ‘Our global strategy remains focused on organic growth in key markets with the best people,’ said Nick. ‘This year we have opened offices in Dubai, South Africa, Austria and Switzerland and expanded our network in China, Australia, India and the UK.’ He stressed the firm’s commitment to professional development and added: ‘Our graduate scheme continues to thrive – this year we have taken on 26 new graduates.’

Their graduate scheme is running again this year. To get the inside track on what it’s like to work there and how best to apply – all written by our objective, independent researchers – read the Knight Frank Employer Insight.
